The company started to take shape in 1986, when Sigdo Koppers S.A., one of the most prestigious business groups in Chile, specialized mainly in the fields of engineering and industrial construction, decided to enter the automobile business and acquires the official brand representation for Chile of the Italian carmakers Fiat and Lancia.
With this business startup, Sigdo Koppers initiates its trajectory in the Chilean automobile industry, which in subsequent years underwent strong expansion through becoming the authorized distributor in Chile of other brands such as Daewoo, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Mitsubishi.
In 2000, the company adopted its current structure and composition, when Spain’s largest independent importing group, Bergé Automoción, decides to expand its business operations into new markets and establishes a strategic alliance with Sigdo Koppers in Latin America.
